SSAA Trap State Titles 2006 in Jarrahdale

On Sunday 19th March the shooting range of Jarrahdale was host to the SSAA State Trap Titles. The weather was fine and 15 participiants found their way to the range. Nigel and the rest of his crew had (again) everthing under control and the competition run smoothly. Shooters from Perth Field Rifle and from Jarrahdale enjoyed the venue and took the opportunity to socialize.
Have a look at some of them in action!

80th Birthday of Ed Lewis

On Sunday 12th March a highlight of the Trap shoot was a surprise Birthday Cake for Ed Lewis who, just a few days prior, celebrated his 80th birthday.

The cake was enjoyed by the members who watched hungerly as it was expertly cut up by Bruce Hughes.
Ed Lewis has been shooting since the tender age of 12, and had a lot of rabbits running scared in Yorkshire.
He moved to Perth when he was 39 and has been a keen shooter notching up trophies in Field and Game - Veteran State Champion 6 years in a row.
Ed also won a Silver Medal in the All States competition. Recent wins for Veteran Compact 1999 and 2002 were added to the impressive list.
Ed is now happy to shoot at our club where he enjoys the friendly atmosphere and where younger shooters appreciate his friendly advice.
